Could someone be so kind as to help me with my computer?

My daughter was visiting and put some type of program on my computer to protect it. Now I am unable to log on to pay bills because I have no cookie. I am unable to contact her. How and what do I do to fix this problem and enable a cookie so I can log on to the site?

Thanks to everyone who answers. Happy New Year!!

Control + Enter should release access to the icon of the cookie.

    If problem continues:

    Go to desk top security.

Change security preferences to allow cookies or disable security program.

Restart computer to save new security settings.

If you're able to get to it, do a system restore to a time before the download. Also you might want to F8 to Safe Mode (turn the PC on and continuously press the F8 key till it prompts you to chose a Safe Mode option. This should start your PC without the other program being activated. You can remove or un-install the program from here. If you're not able to get rid of it,definitely try the System Restore.

Without knowing what she's put on your computer, it would be hard to know how to disable it.

You could try looking under control panel > add/remove programs and uninstall the latest program installed. But unless you know specifically what she's installed, that could be hit and miss.

Or you could download an install another web browser that most likely wouldn't be affected by the program. Firefox, or Safari would most likely get you in.

It depends on the search engine you use. But generally you go under tools and look for options or security settings. There will be one that says allow cookies. Just check the box.
