Now Terry Pratchett has been knighted...?

... deservedly in my opinion, can I enquire here for more comments, plaudits and even criticisms to commemorate the event?

Has anyone read him and not liked his work? Why?

Favourite books, characters, quotations?

I might get into trouble here if I pick:

“Five exclamation marks, the sure sign of an insane mind.”

But my world would be much poorer without Jingo, Vimes, and line after line of both pointed and gentle wit.

Update:

Oh we few, we happy few...

(at least here, it seems.)

Greebo!

Reaper Man, Hogfather, Interesting Times, Small Gods, Thief of Time.

I'd have to vote Thief as the best book simply because it's the only story I've ever read where chocolate truffles are used as weapons, and effectively at that.

Small Gods wins for being the most poignant and pointed commentary on religion I've ever read, while Interesting Times takes the cake as the best art historical novel ever attempted.

Rincewind the Wizzzard and Death are my favorite characters.

Just the three (whoops, four counting you, Pedestal) of us, really?!?

Have any of you seen the film of Hogfather? Two DVDs, and WOW! what a movie. The guy who plays Tea Time is freeeeeeeeeeaky scary.

Excited cries of "Ook!", thrown peanuts, and a dram in the Mended Drum!

My world and heart have been enriched by Sir Terry's pennings for many an Ankh-Morpork Moon.

Esme Weatherwax remains unimpressed, as you might imagine.

    Good on 'em both!.
