What laptop do i need(Sony or Mac)?
This will be for school but im sure i will put some games on it.(I love spore but my computer cant run it very well) Like i said it will have lots and lots of school stuff, documents mainly but some video projects. I will have many windows open at once as well as programs so i need a computer that can process all of that without lagging. Price under 2000 would be great but i doubt it will happen. I also want a good screen thats 15.4" or over with good resolution and HD.
1.Kickass processor
2.Lots of Memory
3.Hard drive with a high rpm
This is what i have found so far
Macbook Pro
• 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
• 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
• 320GB Serial ATA @ 7200
• NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB
• 15.4” glass display
• $2,685.00
Sony Vaio
• 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
• 4GB DDR2 SDRAM – 2x2GB
• 320GB Serial ATA @ 7200
• ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 with 512MB vRAM
• 16.4” LCD display
• $1,999.99
so is having 2.4GHz going to be noticebly slower than 2.8GHz?
Also i dont really care about the graphics card on the vaio unless it being crappy will slow the computer down.
If you can give the basic specs of what i should look for in a good laptop.

It seems like you want your laptop for gaming and video production.
The MacBook Pro is the most-used laptop for HD video production. Most professionals use only the MacBook Pro. On the other hand, the Vaio is almost never used in video production. It's not good at all.
Also, the MacBook pro has the NVIDIA GeForce video card, which is amazing! It's great for running games like Spore, and again, is great for video production. The ATI Radeon, which is the Vaio's card, doesn't compare.
The MacBook Pro is much faster than the Vaio and has much less problems. It's almost perfected.
So it seems like the MacBook Pro fits all of your needs. Post an update to this question if you need more help; I'd be glad to aid you in your decision.
Happy buying!
UPDATE: The difference between the 2.4GHz and the 2.8GHz is negligible. You can't notice the difference. The only reason to use the 2.8GHz is if you really, really need the speed.
As to what the "perfect" specs are, there really are no perfect specs for a laptop. It really all depends on your individual needs. For your needs, a MacBook Pro would fit perfectly.
And as to the graphics card, if you like playing games, then I would take the NVIDIA processor over the ATI any day. NVIDIA (especially the GeForce) is stellar. And Spore would run perfect on it; I've tried playing Spore on a MacBook Pro and it works really good.
UPDATE 2: Oh, just one more thing to tell you: specs aren't always the most important thing. For example, you can have a laptop that looks like it has amazing specs on paper, but it can still have a crappy operating system, such as Windows. The MacBook Pro has an amazing OS, and it has great specs.

I agree with Tallest Skil. I don't think you would need 2.8GHz, the 2.4 will do just fine. You will have no regrets with the Mac.

The $1,999 2.4GHz MacBook Pro will run faster than that Sony laptop. Don't spend money on things you don't need.
