i live about 10 miles from thurles, i know it very well and know a lot of people from there, i know some O'Dwyer's all right but not many. lets see, its got one of the biggest night clubs in ireland called Hayes, its not very good i use to go there when i was younger. The GAA was founded in thurles, (the gaa is the organisation the runs the 2 national games of ireland hurling and football). It a big enough town, about 8,000 i would guess!? its got a 40'000 seater stadium called semple stadium. Need any more info in particular just ask!

Thurles is near the town of Cashel, just north of it. Cashel is between Tipperary town and Kilkenny.
O'Dwyer? It would be like looking for a needle in a haystack, there are several families of that name in the area!
But if your friend has a first name, he could try www.goldenpages.ie and click on the eircom phone book link, and possible track down some relatives.

Thurles is a town in Co Tiperary.
You may have the spelling of the surname incorrect.
In might be O'Dwyer.

I went to school in Thurles. O'Dwyer is a pretty common name in the area. There are a few families with the name in my village, and there were 3 different (unrelated) girls with that surname in my class in secondary school.

Thurles is in Southern Ireland - roughly half-way between Kilkenny & Limerick.
