Toffee why it did not harden and is there way to make it harden ?

Made toffee, followed all directions it did not harden. Its soft and grainy. it there anythingthat will make it harden now, after the fact or d0 I have to through it all out?

    If it's grainy you didn't let it reach a high enough temperature. You could throw it back in a pot and recook it. Toffee should be cooked to 285 degrees F, or the soft crack stage. While it is cooking drop a small dab into cold water, it will form a hard lump when it has reached the correct temperature, rather than a soft ball.
