my phone has IM but we didn't pay to get connected to the internet.. but the IM ing still workds... am i getting chared?? i have T-Mobile.

more than likely you are getting charged. most if not all mobile carriers charge by bytes of information sent and received if you don't have a plan. IM's will send bytes of information.

If you have a texting plan each Im is equal to one text. If you don't have a texting plan get one because each Im is 20cents. It has nothing to do wit having the Internet.

If you don't subscribe for texting you're likely to pay $0.20 for every message and will end up heavy bill.
