Very good question. There isn't much written about her, and nothing about the reasons she wasn't there in season two.
That said, and because we know that Nielsen ratings are the life blood of Hollywood, we can assume her character didn't add to the show's audience appeal and didn't help the ratings. For that you get the boot.
