I can't auto update windows as it tells me i need the latest version of IE but i have it already.?
And also I can't view my hot mail account or my yahoo account with out reverting to classic style. Any ideas guys?

Let the Os update its self and use FIREFOX its a lot better safer and faster.

Vista does not use any web browser / internet explorer to update manually.
Thats what makes Vista updates fast.
XP does use I.E.
do you use windows mail (or outlook express in xp) to check your e-mails? If so a web browser is not needed.
other than that, why not try firefox 3.
I.E is still on version 7, 8 is still in beta so not full finished. Best not to use i.e.8 yet

What version of IE do you have?
The latest version of Windows you should have is IE7.
Version 7.0.6001.18000
If you have tried to install IE8 then it isn't supported by Hotmail or Yahoo because it is still in testing.
