Looking for cheap and effective fluid for automotive parts washer. ?

Do I go with kerosine (paraffin) or diesel or is there something better. UK answers would be best if brands involved.

    petrol, WD-40, gunk,jizer depends how bad the crud is. Fairy liquid in very hot water can do 99% of jobs, just rinse it well as it will leave a salt deposit.

    I've restored bikes to concourse condition with fairy lol

    The best thing i would say is carb cleaner it gets rid of all the gunk and stuff on the part

    local oil companies offer degreasent at around £153.50 for 205 litres (last price quoted in the summer) smaller quantities cost more.
