what does the expressions "lions for lambs" mean?
heard it being used but not sure of its proper meaning. any explanation would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I think you must have misheard the expression. People talk about the lion lying down with the lamb, around Christmas, as a metaphor for peace on earth. It's actually a misquote of something in the Bible, which has a wolf lying down with a kid and so on. In March, people say it comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, referring to the fact that it starts with nasty, wintry weather and ends with nicer, spring-like weather. But that's as close as I can come to what you may have heard.
