Is it illegal (New York State) Rodent Death Match?
Is it illegal to build a web site where users create free accounts are given points. They use these points to ‘wager’ on the outcome of a match that is via live webcam. 3 (feeder) mice or rats are placed in a ‘ring’. In the center of the ring is a mouse / rat trap. The users are ‘betting’ points on who will spring the trap and be killed 1st. Ok, maybe not moral, but the rodents are being sold to be fed to snakes and lizards. There are millions of mouse traps sold a year. Yes, it will piss PETA off – but is it a crime?

Certainly not illegal to build and run the website itself, as no money is changing hands. However, most municipalities tend to frown upon blood sports in general - while none probably have any laws covering for this exact sort of thing, doesn't mean you might not get hassled and/or fined over it. (Any number of public-nuisance or health statute violations they could probably make stick if they really wanted to.)
