Very frustrated about an upcoming 50th birthday party?
My fiance's birthday party is in two weeks and I just want it to be over! I am very frustrated with the time restraint we are under and wish we had not opted to rent a hall because of the time limitation. Can anyone give suggestions on how their 50th birthday party ran from start to finish so maybe I won't stress so badly?
The very frustrating part is I stated on the invitation what time the party starts and everyone is already saying we started the party too early so they don't know if they are going to be there at that time. Because we rented a hall, things have to run on schedule so we can be out on time.

I would suggest that you start the party exactly on time with an announcement of where/what the food and drinks are. Explain what time it ends and that some of you planning on meeting at "_______" afterwards for those who aren't ready to go home yet. Then proceed with any speeches, then gifts and then singing/dancing, etc. Towards the end, have a few designated people starting to help gather what needs to go with you when you leave, such as gifts, cake, etc.

First things first. You've got the hall, how about a guest list? Invitations would be next.
Menu? The hall should have food & drink suggestions.
Gift?
I'm not sure how much help I've been, basically just prioritize by what needs to get done first. I'm sure you're further along than you realize.
Good luck.
