My dog is dead, at home. What now?
My dog was just put to sleep by at-home euthanasia, by a vet, but one who wasn't prepared to take the body away. I'm in Decatur, GA. What do I do with the body? community cremation is okay, but I don't know where to go.

I listed some sites that are in GA for pet cremation, but I don't know if they are near you. If they aren't call them and see if they can help you find one in your area. You can call your vet and have them hold the body until you can take it to have it cremated as long as they have space and a freezer big enough if it is a large dog. I'm sorry for your loss and hope you find peace in your time of need.

Well, you need to put the dog where it is cold (ex: on ice, freezer, etc) So that the body doesn't disintegrate. Take your dog to the local vet, and ask them to have him cremated.
I am so sorry for your loss. Good Luck!

I'm so sorry! My dog just died not too long ago. It was very sudden. We buried him in his favorite spot in the front yard and bought a small stone with his name on it and put it there. Thats what I would do if I were you. Does your dog have a favorite spot in the yard? If so, I would put it there.

Look up "Pet Cemeteries" in the phone book. Call them - they should be able to tell you who to contact.
