Should I apply for a loan? If so what kind?

I need money to get a transmission for my car (1985 Camaro). Ive found one for 200 bucks but i dont have the money right now cause ive gotten laid off at work and dont work near as much as i used to. Ive heard title loans are "cheaper" but dont wanna risk losing my car if something comes up (accident, etc.) and i dont know if payday loans will accept me or if my bank will give me a loan since i dont have that much in my account. My folks are getting tired of putting money into my car just to have something go wrong. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

I have never been to those pay day loan offices..I hear their interest can be pretty high. Some people work with an understanding company, so small loans through work might be possible. However a lot of people are embarressed to ask anyone they know for help, so online companies do help. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Payday-Loan.html

Times are hard. Can you find another job in another field? Can you sell anything on ebay or craigslist? How about selling the Camaro? I would not do a payday loan as they are expensive and charge interest up to 200%. If you have been laid off, can you apply for state benefits until you find another job? At least you will have income to save and fix the car yourself.
