A Super Bowl cannot end in a tie except in an emergency.

Remember the World Series had to stop play because of an Earthquake.

  • a super bowl game has never ended it a tie, all games that end in a tie at the end of regulation, goes into a sudden death tie breaker (first team to score, wins) which is 15 minutes long (basically a 5th quarter, to score) if neither team does by the end, then its a tie, but only in the regular season, if time expires after the first tie-breaking-5th-quarter in the postseason (playoffs), then they just play a 6th, then 7th and so on

    A tie only occurs if:

*its a preseason game and the game ends a tie

*its a regular season game and after playing a sudden death overtime the score is still the same.

The playoffs cannot end in a tie they play until their is a winner, as has been stated

haha. me and my dad were talking about this just the other day. in a regular game they go into over time and then play 15 minutes until the first team scores; if nothing happens, it ends in a tied. we've come to the conclusion that although is the regular guidelines they would never end in a tie for the Superbowl. the odds of a team scoring in 15 minutes is generally high. and if that weren't the case...well i'm sure the referees would figure something out...probably a game of red rover or something else ingenious.

Not possible. Playoffs and title games even in American sports that allow ties (like back when hockey used to) always have a winner.

Tie is not possible. Sudden death until a team scores.

no that is one game that there needs to be a winner so overtime will continue till there is a winner. I think all of the games should keep going till there is a winner. they get paid to play not to give up.
