    Because most people now like a catchy song with some cool beats and slick words. Music in the recent years has turned out to be crap for the most part. Little effort put in and no writing ability is ruining music...

    Just a guess.

    Honestly it's a personal preference. I don't care much for them, but I know people who absolutely love them more than anything.
