Can I keep my phone if I switch companies?

Right now i have Telus cell phone and the 2 year contract is going to be over soon... so i was wondering if i could keep the same phone and switch to a company like Bell or Virgin Mobile?? Anybody know the answer?

    but depend if the Sim card not fit with your phone then you have to change it

    some company have different size of Sim card

    id say not, there are some phones that can be "unlocked" to work with other carriers, but alot of the applications wont work properly, not sure about those companies, but i got a free phone when i got a new carrier

    even if the sim card fits, it still may not work, as is the case with t mobile, and at&t.....the cards are the same size, but they wont work
