Help! I just got my dog neutered yesterday, and he ripped out the stitches.?
I brought him back today, and the vet stapled him up. I crated him, went to the grocery store, and when I got back, he'd eaten the staples! I will call the vet tomorrow, but any advice on what I should do in the meantime? I've applied some neosporin, but that's about it.
Also, I've read about using super glue, but I'm not sure whether it's a good idea or not.

Wow. First of all, he should have a cone over his neck AT ALL TIMES. I do believe they have some bad tasting/smelling creams you can put down there that will keep a dogs nose away from his stitches. Definitely take him back to the vet and keep a cone over his neck.

Yikes don;'t do the super glue. if it's not bleeding then neosporin is
about the only thing I would do. Try to keep him calm. The vet can fix
him up again but he may need a cone around his neck to keep him away from his stiches until they heal.

Don't use super glue, when my dog had an operation, we had a cone put over her head. She looked like an absolute dork and she kept walking into things but she couldn't get at her stiches.
If you don't have a cone handy, the cloth muzzles that come in dog 1st aid boxes are good, it's more frustrating for the dog but he still cant get to the stiches

this is okay, I comprehend why you're apprehensive. i could be to. The vet ought to examine the wound to confirm the opposing edges are related and healing. in the event that they are then that's ok, yet shop the canines very quiet (puzzling for a youthful domestic dog, i comprehend) and no licking, rolling in the dirt, swimming and so on.. If no longer then it is going to be re-sutured. the two way shop the bucket on (until supervised) until the wound is healed. do no longer rigidity your self out too plenty, it is going to be ok. specially look ahead to an infection and bleeding. (observe: cat neuter/castrations are very different from canines, male cats do no longer require sutures in any respect)

nooooo dont use super glue!! The glue they use to glue wounds up is not supre glue, is special suture (not sure how to spell it) glue, try to keep the wound clean and get your dog back to the vet as soon as you can, and get an e-collar to stop him from pulling the stitches out :)

After the first time, your dog told you he was gonna tear out stitches....so, invest in a medical collar and use it. In the mean time, tie up your dog so he can't turn around and chew the incision.
