my mum sells avon and the products themselves are very good. all my make up is from there and i also use their hair products and shower/bath products. as for actually selling it, she finds the best way is to not 'sell'. personally it puts me off if someone is trying to push a hard sale on me. she will drop books round with a note that says- "ive left the latest book foo you to look at, if you wish to order anything, write it on the form and leave it out on ......if not, don't worry, leave the book out anyway and ill drop back in a few weeks with the next book. any questions call me on ....."

her customers appreciate that alot more than being made to feel bad if they dont order, and through doing this she has become the 2nd highest selling rep in our area. good luck in whatever you decide to do.

As long as you are not thinking you are going to make a lot of money and it is just for fun, do it...but Avon does not sell well anymore. Used to be the No.#1 selling make-up in the world, believe it or not. Their skincare line get a little respect, but their cosmetic line is boring and outdone by the competition. It also depends geographically where you are, too. Some areas, say in the Midwest, might like it better than the areas on the east and west coasts....

When you join Avon it is your business so you do what you choose to do with it as you please.

Personally for me it has been worth while. I am able to make $250 every 2 weeks in addition to my full time income.

Not sure if you are aware but now you can sign up to become a representative online now. Plus, with all the support that is available out there you should be able to make a great income.

If you do happen to be interested and are ready to get started just click my profile for online application website information.

Hope that helped answer your question

i sold avon earlier this year..

it was really a bad idea. there are perks.. for the 1st 3 campaigns you get half off your purchase..

but, i ended up paying WAY more than i was making,

you have to buy the books, your samples, you have to pay tax, uhm. i can't really remember what all i ended up paying for.

and if you don't have enough people buying then you practically just make nothing. it's like 20%.

i really think avon was pretty overrated.

i do not mean to burst your bubble, but it is just not as fun as it seems, and i would hate for you to invest in something that you will never make profit from.

    best of luck..

i wouldn't do it b/c no one buys avon anymore. back in the 80's to early 90's it was a profitable business for ppl and that's where avon is stuck at, yesteryear. their merchandise now is mainly for women in their 50's and up. then again that's my opinion.

i feel too that it's a product from the 70's, 80's and really it isn't so bad, i like the eyeshadows the best.
