WHY IS IT DIFFICULT FOR CELEBS TO GIVE IN CHARITY?

I thought with the Millions of dollars they make, Celebs would be the first people to give charity to assist less fortunate in the society? Why die and live millions in banks and people are suffering out there. What is the use of having the money in the first place? http://www.coralwise.org/

They worked for their money, and have the right to choose what they want to do with it. Not every person would donate their money if they were rich. I know that for a fact. Some people would. You are generalizing. Not all celebrities are heartless or doesn't care to give to charity you know...Many are helping. Don't judge them all together. How are youu helping the less fortunate?

All I am saying is that iit was a generalization. Some people donate their lives to help the less fortunate. I am currently helping out WWF and spreading the word about AIDS. For those like us who do care about helping, we should get together and spread the word!!

Not all celebrities are millionaires, and many millionaires are not celebrities.

Most of the rich and/or famous do give a certain amount of money to charity, although it is likely that they give a smaller percentage of their incomes than you or I give of ours. In terms of dollars, Bill Gates gives far more than I could ever dream of, but I'll bet that my percentage of income is higher.

Another thing to remember is that in many places (the USA for instance) charitable giving is subsidized by the government in the form of income tax deductions. Thus a $1,000,000 donation costs the donor only $650,000 (and the taxpayers provide the rest).

Another thing that is undervalued is time. The poor and middle class are more likely to spend time working with youth groups, visiting hospitals or nursing homes, or helping out in food pantries, churches, or animal shelters than the wealthy are. If you were to calculate the amount of money required to pay people for this work, you would have a huge amount of money, and it would be more obvious that the rich provide much less than their fair share of the burden.

My point is that the rich and/or famous do donate to charity, and that many of their donations are very generous, even if they could easily afford to be more generous. Why aren't they? It's part of the reason they became well-to-do in the first place.

You cant speak for all celebrities nor do you know what they all do with their money exactly. For all you know most of them do give to charities. Maybe they keep that info private. I wouldnt want the public to knwo what i was doing with my money if i were a celebrity.

I know Jon Bon Jovi is always doing something for charity and Habit for Humanities. It's not up to you to say what people should do with thier hard earned money.

It isn't. Many of them donate. It is difficult for them to make their finances or actions public, though.

Make-a-Wish, for instance, rarely gets turned down when some child wants a visit from someone famous. The sports / movie / singing star almost always insists on NO PUBLICITY, lest they be overwhelmed by mobs or be seen as doing it for the publicity.

well personally I think they are wasting to much time worrying about their looks, when they could be helping others. They probably think that if they have the money they can spend it on themselves.(themselves only)
