Tony Blair was a pathetic man. Any good he done for Britain was done through advice from Brown. He was bullied into Iraq by Bush and apart from trying to be a crowd pleaser done no good for the country.

Taz C - you obviously have just sheepishly relayed what you have read in the press. The press have an agenda.

The credit crunch began in the USA. Because the UK economy is largely financial, then we are likely to be most effected compared to other, manufacturing countries. The toxic assets went from the American banks to the British ones.

None of this is Gordon brown's fault. He was the only one of the developed nations that tried to change the financial system so that it had more checks and balances.

Britain although it is facing a larger national debt, has considerably lower debt than other developed nations such as Germany, France and the USA.

Brown is definitely the better man. He is certainly more intelligent.

Brown came from a poor background - his father was a Presbyterian minister. So it is in his nature to help others.

Blair on the other hand came from a very posh background and went to a very posh school. He was Bush's poodle. After office he landed a very lucrative job for a bank earning him £1,000,000 a year. He also earns many more millions giving speeches. So Blair didn't care about Britain - he was in it for the fame, the glory and himself.

Brown has led the world in trying to extricate ourselves from the financial downturn.

He is going to increase the highest tax band on the highest earners (150,000 a year plus) to 45%. Here we can see the difference between the 2 men. Whereas Blair was New Labour, Brown is traditional Labour. In other words, Brown's main concern is the lowest earners. Blair's concern was spinning everything to stay in Office - all the while helping nobody.

Brown is committed to expanding sport expenditure. He is committed to tackling obesity. He is committed to new forms of renewable Energy. Like I said - he is a lot more intelligent than most politicians.

In short, he is for the people, and doesn't pander to Big Business organisations like Blair would.

Blair was all spin and no substance. He led us into a costly, immoral war in Iraq and he has the audacity to declare himself a catholic. I never thought much of the Roman Catholic church, now I think even less of it.

Tony Blair because he smiles, Gordon brown looks depressing with them sleepy eyes. Why do we have a crap boring prime minister. Margret Thatcher looked so much more exicitng with her weird hair style. We need prime ministers with Style and wake up the youth not chat a load of bollox

Neither. Remember Brown voted for tuition fees, for the Iraq war, for British troops in Afghanistan etc.

And the back door privatisations go on, and the rich get richer, and the poor get evicted...

At least Wilson kept British troops out of Vietnam.

And Attlee and Bevan made this country a fit place for the majority of its people to live in, for the first time in its history. They have my vote.

    Raise the scarlet standard high!

I completely trust Jayfire almost approximately John Smith, i replace into gutted whilst he died, he replace into like OB1-KEN-OB, he replace into our in basic terms wish. the only person I even have any faith in now's John Reid, you comprehend, the guy who's being blamed for the errors of his predecessors. Had it no longer have been for his outspoken physique of suggestions, the domicile place of work could be swept decrease than the carpet with all the different problems that, it may seem, no political social gathering is handling to great result. i've got faith John Reid is being centred with the intention to no longer be universal. Gordon Brown and George Galloway merely ooze corruption. If the two get in I shall ought to vote for the different facet, some thing I swore i wouldn't in any respect do after the reign of Thatcher.

They are both a pair of arrogant socialists who believe that restricting our human rights one by one and leeching money from everybody. I say now is the time for the dissolution of Labour the new Labourites seek more than just democratic socialism but complete governmental control and the running of our lives.

Tony Blair - at least he didn't lead us into the horrendous recession we see before us now. Brown was a better Chancellor.
