What is the standard price wedding photographers give for out of town weddings?

We are getting married May 17, 2009 in a small town about 5 hours out of Edmonton, AB. If we hire a photographer from the city are we also responsible for their travel costs? What's a standard rate?

It will differ for every photographer. I charge the regular price, and any weddings held within 20 miles of me are not charged travel fees. Otherwise, I charge .58 for every mile after the first 20.

The client is also responsible for lodging, meals, airfare and rental car, if applicable.

There is no standard price. If you hire a photographer, you are responsible for travel costs including a hotel if necessary. This needs to be put into a written contract with the photographer.

You'd have to ask the photographer and make sure it's all clearly written in the contract. Different photographers will do different things, there is really no standard.

    Good luck!
