Does anyone actually drink buttermilk?

I always see buttermilk pancakes r waffles but would any one actually drink buttermilk? And is it really just butter and milk?

My little sister is so weird by the way, she thinks the word "buttermilk" sounds delicious so she took a whole bunch of butter and put it in a glass of milk and drank it....wtf!?! O_O

My husband drinks buttermilk. He is a country boy from Ky. Its milk that has been churned until it has a little butter in it. Its good to make biscuits and pancakes with.

    Its not butter with milk...

its actually curds (yougurt) diluted with water and churned till butter starts gathering. It tastes really good. More so with a little salt and pepper in it :)

We drink it at home. Its usually served right after a meal in India (where i am from)

My dad drinks that with salt and pepper... yuk.

I mix it with eggs, flour, salt, pepper, corn meal, crushed Ritz, and spices to make fish batter.
