Flower Ideas For Celtic Wedding??? No Shamrocks.?

Wedding colors are hunter, sage, and silver. But green flowers look dead to me. Crud. And I'm a Harry Potter fan but I'm using Slytherin colors instead of Gryffindor. Am going to Harry Potter H***.

HaHa. Sorry, easily amused. But seriously, suggestions, no references, I've already looked at theknot.com, don't care for the pictures.

SO???

Update:

Okay, Lyn, excuse me for having a personality and interests. I didn't say I was having a harry potter themed wedding it was merely a suggestion. My fiance is actually a bigger fan.

And I'm walking down the aisle to "walking in the air" by Celtic Woman. All music is by them.

I do believe you and I could be best friends! hahaha I am having a celtic themed wedding (Getting married in a Castle in Scotland) And I am a HUGE fan of Harry Potter. Would never use Slytherin colours though, that's just sick. haha =P

It's a shame you're not walking down to Hedwigs Theme (always a dream of mine that my Fiance would NOT allow! hahaha) but I digress....

Depending on the celtic side you're going for Thistles and Heather are very celtic. If it's Celtic in general they would look lovely mixed in with other traditional flowers. If it's strictly Irish Celtic I wouldn't go for them as they're mainly Scottish flowers.

I am using a very natural feel with my flowers to perceive that medieval feel. Berries and Wheat are essential if that's something that interests you. I am adding roses and other bright modern flowers though so it doesn't look like you just walked into the renaissance fair!

Instead of using green flowers try to find nice greenery to add to your bouquets in addition to the colours you choose. I think mixing the Maroon and Yellow in with your flowers could really throw a touch of accent colour to your decor and still go with the "Non-Theme" of Potter. So use Ivy, Berries, Wheat with Maroon roses and yellow sunflowers.

I found that online when looking up Harry Potter Wedding themes. I think it looks appropriate.

They used a sorting hat to sort people to their tables! Brilliant! And it looks like the cards are attached to Wands... maybe a bit much, but how cute.

    More of their center pieces

I did a yahoo search for Slytherin for images and found that the only color that you didn't lists was red. So what about a deep red. You could also do white and cream.

I found this site with examples from some Celtic named place. I liked the Ivy's mixed into the flowers. Maybe different flowers or colors, but its pretty and differant.

The ladies at http://www.midnightgarden.com/wedding/board are extremely helpful as they are nearly all planning Celtic weddings of some sort.

Thistles are a common flower in that area. Lavendar (the plant).

Congratulations!! I'm sending you a color wheel. IMHO I think your preferred flower in white, sage and magenta with silver (sprayed) baby's breath would be gorgeous!!

Want something softer? White roses with sage ribbons, greenery, and soft pink roses with silver (sprayed) baby's breath.
