I generally have the same problem with my baby's pedi. You can try turning on the hot water in the shower and standing in the bathroom with it going for about 15 minutes. Should help loosen it up (if she has stuffy nose then suction nose immediatly). Also a cool mist humidifier and saline drops for her nose, about 2 drops per nostril. That should go down and help thin out the mucous (even if she doesn't have a stuffy nose), do that every couple of hours. You can pat her back some, it should also help break it up some (I was told at least). Also if she has anything in her nose use the bulb suction to get it out (I always suction then do the drops because if I do the drops first it will just come right back out). If those things do not help find an urgent care that specialize in children if you can't get your pedi to do anything about this. Drs really like for babies and kids to just work things out on their own but sometimes there comes a point when the regular natural ways just aren't enough.

I would also suggest getting a second opinion! My son was born with a cough that led the nurses to believe that he had a virus! Results came back and he did not! The cough continued up until he was about 3-4 months, around the age that newborns become alert! I had seen several doctors and had been told the same! It did not occur again until he was about 7-8 months. We took him to the ER and had been told that our child had been displaying breath holding spells! They can start as early as 4 months old. His face would turn red and he would cough! He never seemed disoriented or anything, as if he had been having a seizure! I would suggest monitoring exactly when its done, what was the enviorment like, was she being stimulated, had she just finished eating, did you just finish playing with her, how often, is their a specific time, is the cough a persistent cough or just one cough, etc. Write them down and take them with you to your next visit! I've learned that the more precise you are the better help you will receive!
