What's the difference?

There's a couple different questions here:

What's the difference between these in the context of a CD:

EP

LP

12"

And what's the difference between these in the context of an individual song:

Remix

Mix

Rework

Respray

Edit

Update:

Yea, I knew what the remix was, but I don't know what's different about the mix, rework, respray, or edit.

Thanks for the info about the EP and LP though!

I can give you some definitions that I know of.

EP= Early production (a demo who usually has around 5-6 tunes)

LP= Late production (an actual album)

remix= Usually someone takes a song, and changes the beat or the style. So he takes a rap song for instance and adds Dance style beats.

Oh and the 12" is the big cd they use to make. Some bands make those. It's a limited production (usually). And I don't know...they like it because it's classy I guess..
