Am I the only person that does not like Ayn Rand?

She's pretty hype (for her time) and pretty pretentious too .... in the end I liked Fountain Head better than Atlas Shrugged - I had to skip through a lot of the middle of Atlas Shrugged - but with a bit of space I can't agree with her ideas.

When I first finished Atlas Shrugged I did feel her basic premise ... that the world (US only) was falling apart because people weren't taking personal responsibility. That's somewhat true, but her solution is childish at best ..... F the world, and take the last with-it people out of society until they beg you to return and lead them ....

She has no environmental consciousness ... and let's face it, hyper-capitalism hasn't done the world any favours.

If Ayn Rand was in charge, people with severe disabilities would be left to die, as likely would the very elderly if someone didn't personally care for them.

Her "school" of thought ...Objectivism ... never really got off the ground, and I'm not sure than she has much relevance as a thinker today.
