Not much to go on here. First why did you nee a new hard drive. If it was because the original was broken then there is very little we can do with that. The reason you do not get anything on screen is Windows is not on the laptop, it's on the drive you took out. Most laptops do not ship with a CD of the Windows install but do have a back up on the hard drive. Not much we can do there again. If you did get a CD the4n you can reinstall Windows from that by putting it in the drive and booting up then follow the instructions. If you don't hve a CD the only way out is to contact Toshiba and explain what has happened and ask them to ship you out the recovery discs for your computer. Good Luck hope this helps.

You need to do a complete install, if you don't have much exper in this kind of thing you may need to take it to someone who does. Sometimes you might have to make the notebook see the drive if it's a really new drive. Research your manuals that came with the hard drive. If you think you can do the complete install, you will need your restore cd's for your notebook and that might just fix everything it's hard to tell without the notebook in front of me to help you out. Sry, I hope my information helps you out.

It is not preferable to open/install any thing in laptops without good laptop repairing knowledge, because laptops are very delicate, you may damage some other part in the system in the process, In your

case, you might have disturbed the connections from power supply within the system, so check all power supply connections outside the system and inside the system, next important thing is the new hard disk should have "Operating System" (OS), so, be sure to install one like xp/vista etc..(original only) and you might have got some motherboard CDs with your laptop, at the time of purchase, check and us them. caution: b careful while opening the system, do not damage any thing. My suggestion is ...You better get the thing done by some good laptop engineer. because laptops r good to get damage and expensive.

Normally HDD installs on notebooks are pretty straight forward. If you put the other HDD back in, will it turn on ok? Make sure that if there is any sort of "adapter" on the old HDD, that it is transferred to the new one. Sorry I can't be any more help.

If you replaced your old one, then there is no operating system installed.

You must install a new copy of vista/xp/linux or whatever you had before. Look for the disks that came with the pc.

It's sounds like a bios problem. If the computer boots into the bios, hit the key that opens it up and see if you need to configure the hard drive.
