    I wouldn't chance it. 35,000 is great. and would change my life enough to make me happy for a year. 5,000 would just get me a car.

    100,000 i don't have to have that much.

    I just want a running start to have dependable car, pay rent in a small apt. /have savings for emergency's * a big one * and I could get to work and earn it all on my own after that.

    The boxes and the numbers are meaningless - the pure maths is as follows.

    You have a 50/50 chance of 5k or 100k - therefore the true offer should be £47500 (half of 95k). So if you accept 35k you are settling for under the odds and, in maths terms you should play on.
