Is CMT affiliated with MTV? ?

Is CMT a country spinoff of MTV? Are they owned by the same company or anything?

    The person in the industry is wrong! I used to work for CMT in Nashville. CMT is not owned by MTV, it is owned by it's own company, CMT affilaites. GAC is also independantly owned. In 2010 CMT will be owned by Gaylord Entertainment, which currently owns the Opryland Resort, Grand Ole Opry, and three other resorts!

    That would be no. MTV associates with a few extended cable channels, and VH1.
