With the american economy slowly going down the drain, do you agree with this statement?
I don't quite remember where I read this, it may have been in my local news paper and could be taken out of context, but I found it curious and wondered if others (primarily liberals) agreed or disagreed with the statement.
"As things stand today, it doesn't really matter what President Elect Obama does, things are going to be very bad before they get any better, and they won't do so overnight. For the incoming president, he faces a term that you can expect to be laced with doubt, pain, and suffering; and he will be blamed for it, even though it's not his fault. Such is the way of the American government. Once things get screwed up, we pick one poor sod to blame, whether they had anything to do with the problem, or not. It's the greater measure of a President not to ask what they did or didn't do about a situation, but what they did when the people blamed them for it."

That's very true. It's just human nature to blame the top person who we think could have helped prevent it. But we Americans, got ourselves into this mess, not the government. They can't control every little thing that goes on in the economy. We have a very big influence though, considering consumer spending is the backbone of our economy. We shouldn't start blaming the president, but start helping him if he screws up.

I don't remember reading it but I did here it.You might have heard people calling this depression "Obama's Depression".The Republicans can never accept when they have been bad. Bush is saying down the road people will realize I did my best and I was a pretty good President. Yea right, with all the people who will suffer through this, nobody is going to forget who is responsible for their suffering. I do believe that things will get worse before they can get better. I mean think about it we are in soooo much debt, someone is going to pay and you can bet your rear it isn't going to be the rich. Bush in fact has bought property in South America. I wonder why his family is going to need to hide out. Bush senior was trying to get the One World Order running years ago and the only way they could do that is to bankrupt the country. Years ago we were a country of manufacturing and farming,we will no longer have those things to fall back on. We will be a slave nation for the rich and powerful.

Of course- why did the Republicans put up such a meek defense for the Presidential race? They know they done bad now its' up to Obama to get blamed for it- just look at all of the fools posting that it was entirely due to Congress, in only the last 2 years. The Republican strategy is sickening if nothing else.I'm no Lib. just a concerned centrist. The Clintonites may have pulled a few minor pranks before giving up the White House to Bush but the Bushian evil pulled the rug out from nearly all of us. Try explaining this to some right wing religious nut jobs when Obama does what he must eventually do in order to keep us afloat.

When the Pres. Elect says ONLY Govt can fix the problem--he should be the one to blame since Govt can solve no economic problem. They can create an environment which allows business to prosper and expand, but they must first get out of the way and let business do its job.

I don't think anybody's going to blame Obama.
He will make a great president, but I don't think he's going to get us out of recession any quicker. The economy will have to correct itself like it has before. He's too much of a Keynesian and he's planning for the wrong handouts to the wrong crowd and it's just going to be a wasted couple billion dollars

the crash of the economy was orchestrated by gobal elite to regain strong holds of their monopolies , the Rockefellers the Morgans -
the pain the average American suffers is of no consequence to them

Naw, Obama has it under control, despite the fears of the Republicans.
Their gloom and doom is just an attempt to sabotage the country so it won't look like a black guy is smarter than Bush.
Actuallly a blacksmith is smarter than Bush. Or a black bird. Or a Black-out. Or a black beetle. Or a black knight. Or a black hat. Or even Jack Black.

LOL The media is talking down the economy worse than it is (like obama) so no matter how bad he screws up he gets a pass.
Well not in my book.

True enough.
Bush screwed us up and Obama will do his best to correct it. The Republicans will scream in 4 and 8 years "You see, the Democrats are the reason everything is so bad."

It takes a brave man to tackle the mess than GWB left. Not a job for a weak man.
