How do you shine your light before others?

By loving others and forgiving others as Christ forgave us. And the Bible also says let your light shine so that they may see your good works and

Glorify God on the day of visitation.

The way you shine your light before others is just like a trees fruit tells you what kind of tree it is. You bear the fruit of the Spirit and people walk up to the tree and desire to taste it and then you share Christ with them.

How great I did a study on this just recently lol.

The word light in greek is phos and is made up of the words Phaino and Phemi....they refer to two things a person should see in a christian..one refers to outward one refers to inward...

Phaino means to lighten, to show, appear seem or be seen

This word is refering to the outward appearance of a christian and your works pretty much the way you live your life to some degree should reflect the light of Christ...a person should see with your life imperfectly but to some growing degree the character of Christ in you. This means they should see your light with their physical eye.

Phemi means to show or make known ones thoughts

This means when a person is around you they should be able to tell by what you talk about and the way you speak that Christ is in you. Your speech should reflect to some growing degree the character of Christ. This means to see light with the mind not with the eye.

Both of these should be evident in your live to a growing degree what it basicically means is a person should be able to see with your life and hear with your mouth things that reflect the character of Christ and bring honor and glory to Him. Our light should be a reflection of God in our lives so a person can look at our life and see God through it.

Eph. 5:9

The fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth.

The main thing is notice it also says we ARE children of light...it's just a matter of being what you are now...a new creature.

Set them a good example. Be a good person, the best you are able to be, and when someone asks you about the basis for your excellence, give the credit to Jesus. I am an atheist, and the only Christians I get along with much are ones like that, or ones that just don't talk about religion much at all.

How's the weather down there btw? Yes I am making small talk since I have no idea of how one can talk about such loaded things as "love" in such an impersonal way--it just doesn't seem biblical to me anyways.....

I try to put a it of light in everything I do. Do I think I am a beacon for Jesus probably not. I can at least try to place a candle in the dark.

By letting God glorify Himself thru you. God is love so that will show. Even our failures can be used to glorify Him. Just be honest and be yourself.

I will live in a way that magnifies our common humanity. Lets agree to disagree on the reasons why.
