What is your most treasured keepsake/momento?

What is your most prized keepsake and why? Describe it if it is something unusual.

Mine is a large book my mom made me of our family history. It has so many pictures of past generations, marriage certificate, death certificates, military records, property records, and our family tree dating back to the 1700's. I can't believe the amount of work she poured into this and it is amazing to see the history of how your family morphed into the current times. I wouldn't take anything for it!

Well Debijs, I'll doubt that any one can top your favorite keepsake.

    You answered your own question.

But let me share my favorite memento anyway: My mother used to write to me on pink air mail paper. I never threw any letters out, but I didn't carefully file them either. When she died, suddenly those pink letters became very valuable to me.

I discovered one of those letters that I had stashed into a drawer and found as I pulled it out, it tore. A bottle of glue had oozed out and stuck a tiny piece of that paper to the bottom of the drawer. When I

pulled that tiny speck of paper out it had only one word on it!

    "Heart"

It was as if my mother was telling me: "take heart"

I keep that snippet of paper folded up inside a locket that my mother gave to me just before I left for the United States. I treasure that

snippet of paper very much indeed.

Oh!! I am a rubbish collector as told by my wife.....Why keep all the 30 years old items?

!st the autograph book done up in 1960, my pass-out year and all the pals written articles & signatures. In 1978, I added up all the Chinese Movie Stars of Hong Kong (around 30 of the top-stars at that time) when visited 3 movie studios. Now I am matching them up with their photos to make a poster set for show.

2nd is a the wedding gift of Prince Charles & Lady Diana, a watermark portrait in a souvenir card (limited issue)........a valuable collection.

    Both are treasure to me.
