making white casttle hamburgers?

why do they need to be cooked from a frozen state

Update:

It seems every recipe I find they say freeze them first than cook them, on a bed of onions. in the frozen state

Update 2:

Thanks all, But the way I read the recipe, it sounded like even if I bought fresh hamburger, I still had to form them and still freeze them before cooking

    They don't.

When a large company packages items, they want to cover their butts and use a very strict standard of safe food handling to avoid contamination.

For example if they didn't say keep and cook frozen, someone could keep them refrigerated for a month( rendering them bad) cook them, get sick and sue.

Look at a ketchup bottle or a mayo bottle" Refrigerate after opening".

Actually, they don't have to be, because they're a very high acidic food.

So, in actuality, you can defrost, wrap each one in a paper towel and microwave( for a less amount of time) and they're perfectly fine.

It's all about food handling that concerns companies.

They can get sued for a persons mishandling of their products.

Oh, I thought you bought them in the box( with the bun and all).

The real recipe for White Castles actually had beef mixed with pulverized( like baby food) veal.

If that's the recipe, they would say "Freeze" them so they don't fall apart( alot of moisture there).

Nothing to do with safe food handling but rather to let them settle.

I dont see why they would need to be...probably just so they dont spoil...like they dont want u leaving them at room temp to thaw them out haha

because they are loose meat, and alot off water in them. low grade meat. but they are good.
