What are some gotta see places in San Francisco, CA?

I'm going to San Francisco for the first time this weekend and would like to know what are some places that you just HAVE to see. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!

Assuming by 'HAVE' to see definition, then the most representative thing of San Francisco is the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge. Get across the bridge over to Marin Headlands to watch the sunrise and fog roll amidst the bridge and the bay - it's gorgeous! And cold. Bring layers.

Grab breakfast at the Marina once you've returned to the city and stroll around the boutique shops before heading over to Lombard st, touted as the crookedest street in the world (officially, it's Vermont st just a little ways away but Vermont st isn't as pretty so Lombard gets the thumbs up).

Hope onto a cable car and take a nice, slow ride over the hills watching SF scenery into SF downtown / Union Square / Chinatown.

If you have more time, days, etc, pay a visit to the Castro and Fisherman's Wharf. The F Line can take you from Castro to Fisherman's Wharf and vice versa - it's a lovely ride on the remodeled retro-styled F line (it can be slow though).

And if you still have MORE time, pay a visit to Golden Gate Park's Japanese Tea Garden, California Academy of Sciences, SF MOMA, the Exploratorium, Asian Arts Museum, the Wells Fargo Museum, the Ferry Building, Haight and Ashbury, Japantown...

check sfstation or craigslist to see what's happening on the weekend too.

    Have fun!
