Was my father correct yesterday when he advised me that "there is nothing worse than toothache"?

He made this remark after my visit to the dentist yesterday....and after I had told him that I require a few fillings. I think he was supporting me in my decision to have all 3 done at the same time...and to get it done before my teeth start causing me problems.

Would you agree that "there is nothing worse than toothache"?

Update:

No thumbs down from me.

    There is truth in this.

When you have a righteous toothache, it makes it hard to enjoy anything.

Q: Isn't the Christian "god" nothing more than a terrible coward and an even worse father? A: Yes, God appears that way, if you take the Bible to be the literal truth. I think most sensible people don't. We have brains which we are supposed to use to distinguish between fact and fiction. The Bible is a very cobbled-together document, containing works written over several centuries. Only 70 of the multitude of existing writings available in AD 325 were used to compose the Bible, and it has been edited and retranslated numerous times, often with questionable results (KJV). For anyone to take all of its stories as literal truth is absurd. I think we should take the morals it teaches as truth. I use the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. I think the rest of it should be regarded as interesting stories and historical documents--windows on the cultures of the time--but not literally as absolute truth. Once you go off by yourself and relate to God on your own, you see that God is nothing like what is described in the Old Testament. At some point, you have to go past the Bible, and seek out what's deeper.

I used to hate going to the dentist. My new dentist for the last 8 years is very nice. No pain. I just had a root canal and no pain at all. He did it all in one sitting.

So, my answer is that yes, there are a lot of worse things than a toothache! (Experience)

The only thing worse than a toothache is a dry socket you can get after the pulling. And I'd rather be in labor than have a toothache, because having a baby is over sooner!

Heart Attack is Major Bad (((HelloWorld))) l Never had any Pain like That before in my life........ But Yes, Toothache is bad.

A man has a toothache, so he goes to see his dentist. After examining the tooth, the dentist tells the patient he is going to have to give him an injection for the pain. The patient says, "No way! I don't want an injection." The dentist replies, "OK, I'll give you gas." "Noooo!" shrieks the patient. "I don't want any gas." "Fine," says the dentist, "I'm going to give you some Viagra!" "Viagra?" exclaims the patient. "What for?" To which the dentist knowingly replies, "You're going to need something to hang on to when I pull your tooth!" - Apologies!!

    (((HelloWorld))).Lol.

As your other answerers have pointed out, there are far worse things than toothache ... BUT ... when you've got it, the fact that someone ELSE may have cancer, doesn't make YOUR toothache feel any better!

I worked in the dental field for 18 years and I have seen a tooth ache bring down the toughest and strongest people. It has been compared over and over to child birth pain. Its right up there in the worst pain category. = ) xx Sugar bug

It can be intense for sure but I think the pain from broken bones tops a toothache!

I do somewhat agree with your father!

toothaches are one of the worse! more so the ones that wake you up in the middle of the night and you don't get ANY releive unless you take a sleeping pill and or knock yourself out! :)

I haven't had kids yet! but i'm sure the all natural would be painful!

    but dealable!
