George W. Bush--count me as thankful for him...how many agree?
Frankly, I am sickened at heart at how many people are bashing Pres. Bush as he leaves office. I know, I know...I hear it every day---how many people disagree wholeheartedly. But I am thankful for George W. Bush and hope someone out there agrees.
No, I didn't smoke anything...I firmly believe Bush is a good man who did his best to keep our country safe and we should all take a pause to thank him. That's all.
Sad to see so much vitriol.

I do not agree. I am SO HAPPY that he will be out of office!! We will have a competent president again who might actually care about the American people and the military!

Yeah, well there's a lot of us who are sickened by how many people are bashing Obama when he hasn't even taken office yet. At least those of us who despise Bush have 8 years of proof of what a failure his time in office was, and I'm sure we'll have a few more years of after effects as a constant reminder of him too.
Whether he's a good man or not has nothing to do with how effective a president he was.

He was the man we needed, at the right time.
Gore or Kerry would NOT have taken decisive action, and we would have terrorism happening everywhere in the west.
Gore probably would not even have gone to Afghanistan, and Kerry would have left Iraq in a state of civil war.
Neither, being liberal democrats, would have enacted the Patriot Act, and we wouldn't be safe in any form of public transportation or place.
Well done, President Bush!

while you're thankful for him, i was so thankful when Obama was elected that i cried - i thought, "our country is now in competent hands! we actually have a president now". the truth is we haven't actually had a President in 8 years. bush is a puppet, and most definitely not a leader. he wasn't a real president that the country looked to for protection and leadership.

How can you say he was a good president? He has damaged this country in so many ways. The worst terrorist attack on American soil happened during his watch, the economy has collapsed,he led our country into an unjust war and he has constantly lied to the public.Just a few months ago he said we were not in a recession and would not be in one.I am sick of all his lies.

His address seemed soo fake...he had this smirk that looked as if he was about to burst out laughing or something. I think he's just saying what we want to hear now...however, he didn't care one bit his entire TWO terms. I am soooo glad to see him go!! On a personal note I think he's one of the funniest men in the world. He should have been a comedian instead of a president...he would have been more successful. So if you love him so...go with him. LOL

I agree. Was he our best president, no, but I believe he was prominent in preventing further terrorist attacks. He stood up for what he believed in, and put country first, before his own political career. This makes him a leader. Let's hope that our next president has the courage to do the same.

He could have done a lot better if he wasn't impeded at every turn by Letterman, Leno, The media, Liberals, Socialists, Democrats, Gays, Abortionists and other trash.
If it wasn't for the stinkin' media we might be ushering in the new administration of Mike Huckabee right now instead of Carter the second.

I'll never forget George Bush; the way he stood up against global terrorism, pulled us out of a recession in 2001, and tried to reform Fannie & Freddie but was overruled by congress. All hail Dubya!!!!

Most young republicans who have been told what to think by their parents have the same opinion i am sure. The Bush administration is all they have known and would hate to think that their parents voted for the most incompetent president ever.
