How to become a productive person?

ive recently decided that im basically going nowhere in my life

im still in highschool, but i realized that i spend most of my time either on the computer, or with friends, but i NEVER do ANYTHING even remotely productive

i would like to turn my life around

i deleted my facebook and myspace for now, decided to become involved in a play (not because im forcing myself to but because i like it) and im going to be a better student

does anyone have any advice to help me become a less lazy / unproductive person??

i got some advice for ya:

if you're more interested in becoming a productive person for YOU i suggest you become more self-motivated.

first step: question yourself, what you want to do for the rest of your life? Remember this is very important because your future career lies in this question. When you get older you should get a job that you enjoy doing or you'll end up becoming miserable

i'd like to note that you did a good thing deleting your facebook for now. it really screwed with my high school career. and another note it's good you became involved in a play "because you enjoy it".

now second step, Are you doing well in high school? Are your grades more important that your social life? If you are currently doing well in school if so good for you. If you are not, try to focus on schoolwork before you even think about getting on aim or facebook or whatever. remember that it's all about willpower and that is what will determine how well you will do.

step three: take up other hobbies or maybe get a job? right now you're in high school and you know what that means right? Know that your teenage years are the best times of your life to make money for your self. i mean think about it, you don't even have to pay for bills like your parents/guardians do. As for hobbies, perhaps take up an instrument? when i was in my sophmore year of high school i picked up an electric guitar and that gave me something to do instead of playing computer games all day.

theres alot of things you can do to become productive. hope my advice will come in handy for you and best of luck

Source(s): i can somewhat relate as i was in your position when i was in high school

Stay in school and do your homework. That , is your job for now. If you don't have anything to do after you get out of school, the best job out their for youngsters is the military. They pay better than any thing else and when you get out you will have bragging rights. All branches pay for more schooling if you want to get a college education, and the most productive thing you can be do is to keep the world safe for the rest of us.
