I NEED to be an actress! how do i do it?

i know...i know... pretty damn stupid saying ' ...I NEED' but i really DO performing is my life. and i know i just cant be an actress overnight so that is why i'm asking you people for tips and how can i make it? like getting an agent? or maybe a manager? starters? acting lessons? sites links of info?

THE ANSWER WITH MOST DETAILED ANSWER WILL BE THE BEST ANSWER! thanks alot you guys

xoxo

Update:

oopsie doops lol i meant

"' ...I really do love performing it's my life!"

can you start to be an actress at your twenties?? because most people are saying that you need to go to a university or college and i think i wont have time for acting experiences throughout my teenager years. i would love to start classes or college at the age of 16 but i'm worried that i wont be able to have time to have acting experiences...

anyone recommends any colleges or universities that i should go for performing arts? from america to england whatever as long as it to make it for my life long dream.

I can sing, dance, play the violin and piano. I am pretty musical and artistic.

Update 2:

would it be okay if you dont go college or

university first? cause i asked my parents if i can go to theaters or acting stuff without the college or university. and they though it would be dumb because if i fail this dream i wouldnt get a good job if i dont get to a college or university.

this is pretty dumb... but what do you do in a college or university? :S

but what if i got accepted but i want to do something else besides leaning stuff like acting lessons outside school.

i live in England and have been saving up money since i was little so yeah, i have a lot of money for any school. (i'm not under 13) and my mom and dad are helping me so if any of you have recommends and colleges/university/acting stuff well put it in! (:

The best start would be with a school or college, doing drama and acting. My best friend is desperate to be an actress too, she's at College doing drama at the moment. I trust with the passion you seem to have, you have the talent.

A school or college (assuming you are of that age- apologies if not) would be the best start because that can get you a qualification that will be recognised, it's a headstart on anyone else.

In the midst of it all, get yourself into as many productions, plays, pantos as physically possible. You'd be amazed what those things can lead to- a scout is bound to show up at one of them and you'll get headhunted for more parts, bigger parts and bigger shows. If you've got a scout leading you through that, that can lead to pretty big things. Looking for an agent or manager shouldn't be your priority, but don't hold back on it. They could help you move along with things.

In the early stages of acting, scouts look for those with several talents- the main ones being acting, singing and dancing. Work on dancing and singing as well, it'll really open up some more doors for you, and help you get the attention you need.

A plus point, you've obviously got a lot of passion for acting which is always really good to see :) it's something a lot of people lack, which faults them when it comes to something worthwhile. So you've already got an advantage there.

School/College will be better than private tutoring- working in groups and qualifications. Most colleges will take you on whatever age you are. Make sure you are capable of a variety of emotions and the like when performing as well - like, don't focus on, say, the happy girl in love in the happily-ever-after types. If you're thrown a part for a sadistic depressed stalker.. you should be able to pull that off just as well.

I don't want to say starve yourself or anything, but people do look for appearance, but they concentrate on health more. If you feel you need to perk up a bit, don't diet or anything. just eat healthily and exercise regularly, health is a vital factor among actors and actresses considering the amount they go through during performances and shoots.

Also get yourself known- it may start off quiet, but go out places, be sociable and meet new people. make new friends. let them know you're aspiring to be an actress, it's something different that could get them talking to other people and people will know about you quicker than anything. and any one of those people might just be somebody who can get you involved in a production or something :)

Even go as far as organising a public performance with yourself and anyone else you act with, something that will be performed in the open where endless amounts of people will notice you (something my friend did which got her headhunted)

I hope I've been of help :) let me know how it goes for you, I'll come back if I think of anything else or if my friend has any more luck.

Remember! Qualifications and Publicising! Get out there girl :) xx

You have to do what your heart tells you to do. You have to study acting. Don't spend your money in private classes. Go to the university. Because if you are good your professors will recommend you. If not, contract you. You need a network of friends, agents, actors and so on. So you know first hand wen and were you can get a script part. Register in an actor association, auditing for hundreds of plays or whatever you found. Make your self notice by your quality of acting. Not by your body or your pretty face. Before go to an audition study the director profile and know in advance what he or she is looking for or what type of people he contract. If he like Blondie's and you are redheaded forget it( you will not waste your time and you will not broke your heart aether.) Get out were they hang out and meet them. Like a spy, blue print them. Recollect all info about the director you want or the project you want. So wen you audition you will show what they want and get the part. They call it social engineering

If you don't find anything start your own plays in a local theater with friends. Assign the part you love to your self. Never sits a wait for others, and get notice if you are good some one will notice you. If you are not good move ahead. People will let you know.

    Good luck.

Audition at local community theatres. If you're in school, tryout for the school plays/ musicals. There are also comedy stores you can look into for stand up comedy if that's your bag. Take acting classes. The instructors there typically have ins to audition opportunities. If you get to the point where you feel like you could make a career out of it or you want to do commercials, then definitely get an agent. There are tons of agencies out there...some of whom will make you promises and break your heart while taking your money. Others are reputable enough to get you some nice gigs but you will need to make it worth their while with how you perform. Try these web sites:

    www.experienceproject.com

    www.wikihow.com

    www.actingbiz.com

    Good luck. Break a leg!

I know the feeling of "need" and you are not stupid. I was the same, when I was yonger with acting, and now it is "directing". I am hoping to start my own theatre company in Cornwall.

If you really want to make it, you really can't do better than getting as much possible experience as you can. Do as many shows as you can down here. Get as much experience as you can.

In terms of making money out of it and doing it as a living, it is nearly impossible to do it in Cornwall. There are only a handful of professional theatre companies in Cornwall who are paying full actors wages. It's possible, but difficult!

Have you thought about drama school? The best are in London and Bristol. Going there for a training is a good idea, though often what you learn isn't as valuable as the contacts you make!!

In the meantime, it's also good to watch as much as you possibly can. Go to see has much as you can. There is some good stuff going on in Cornwall - Plymouth Theatre Royal (sorry, Devon!) and Hall for Cornwall have some decent stuff on. But be prepared to go further afield, to Stratford, Bath and especially London... you can't beat watching theatre to hone you're own craft, and develop a critical eye for what makes a good performance.

Oh, and also read biographies. Kenneth Branag'h's 'Beginnings' is a good one for someone who feels that 'need' to act and starts from scratch. Anthony Hopkins biography is a gooden. Try any of the greats and see what they say!

I could go on, but hope that's cool for starters!

I haven't met many people as keen as you in Newquay to act!

    Good luck!

Your exposure and visibility is at paramount of importance. You need to get noticed, to do that, I think you can participate in any reality shows that fancy you a chance to be on publicity but make sure you're displaying the talented side of you, also participate in auditions for performance. About manager and agent, i think if you do well in shows of performance, they will be interested of promoting you. So, go out there and get noticed!

P/S : Beware of any suspicious bogus agencies.
