R&P: My song for 90s Friday (plus BQs, please check this out)?
Ok, I've been featuring a 90s song for at least 6 or 7 weeks now, but didn't get many answers. :(
Contacts, if you don't want to answer this question, it would be much appreciated if you starred so that YOUR contacts can. ;)
Anyway, I'm featuring a totally underrated 90s band: Hole.
Courtney Love fronted the band, but unfortunately as I stated many times before, her public persona totally overshadowed her music career.
This is one of my favorite songs from the band:
'Miss World'

What do you guys think?
BQ: Favorite Hole song
BQ2: Name some of your favorite bands (or singers) that are underrated/underappreciated on R&P.
BQ3: How's your day? Any plans for the weekend?
You don't have to answer all of my questions btw, just answer the ones you want. :D
Oh yeah, the R&P Hall of Fame will close this Monday, hurry up and get your votes in! There have been over 55 bands nominated, make sure to vote for each one! Thanks! (link is on my profile)
oh, c'mon! I think I asked this question at the wrong time lol....
You're reported, impersonator!
Everyone, if you see the 'Running Away With You' or 'former crack addict' or 'Troll' trolls, please report their questions/answers. Thank you.

YAYYYY!!!!!!!!!! I love Miss World, definitely in my Top 5 Hole songs. Its just... it brings such a feeling of beauty yet dread in such a perfect melody. But what Radio Waves said, I would have to disagree with... the solo album was very meh, I agree, but Celebrity Skin had some very great tracks like "petals". "dying". "northern star". 'celebrity skin" and "malibu". And Pretty on the Inside... now THAT is ******* underrated. Also, I am totally looking forward to Nobody's Daughter, the previews I have heard are... amazing, but the best one is "Happy Ending Story" http://www.myspace.com/courtneylove its in her music box and its number 3. But anyway Go Courtney!
BQ: I couldn't choose just one! But, Garbadge Man, Best Sunday Dress, Miss World, 20 Years in the Dakota and Drown Soda are my top 5. Doll Parts probably fits in there somewhere too....
BQ2: Hole of course, radio waves also said it THE BREEDERS! Pixies, Blondie, The Cars, and L7 among numerous others.
BQ3: my day... I still need to take a shower XD, but I'm feeling very hyper.

There are a lot of people that don't like Hole because of Love, and attacking them for that really isn't fair. She put herself out there, ahead of the band, as a musical genius, and a member of the cult of personality, but didn't have the genius (nor the personalty) to pull it off. Her solo record is terrible, and, other than Live Through This, Hole's catalog isn't much better.
Its a shame, because Live Through This is an underrated gem from the 90s. great album. And you picked a great song from that album.
It was her band though, and she could do with it whatever she liked - what she liked just didn't happen to be what was best for the band.
Just my opinion.
BA: Miss World, Doll Parts, I Think I Would Die, and Violet (although that's a bit overplayed)
BA2: Flaming Lips, Afghan Whigs, Neutral Milk Hotel, Melvins, Breeders, Mr. Bungle, No Age, Sic Alps, Mountain Goats, and many more
BA3: So far its been a pretty lazy day - my plans for the weekend: get my work done for Monday.... there's a lot of it.

That's another song from the 90's that's managed to hold up extremely well. I've always loved L7, especially that particular track. It's too bad they aren't really around anymore but Father Time has way of mellowing out even the harshest of riot grrls. So, let's make it official, L7 was and still is very much underrated. BA1 - Mr. Integrity or S**tlist BA2 - The Birthday Massacre - Happy Birthday BA3 - I'm hosting a huge party over at my place. Looking at about ten keggers, a band, jugglers, mimes, balloon animals, and a full bar.

That's my favorite song by Hole. I just love it. I agree that people care more about how certain members of the band act instead of focusing on the music. Those are usually the people who claim it's 'all about the music the who's in the band'.
BQ- Miss World and Best Sunday Dress

Very nice. Live Through This is one of my favorite albums and next to "Asking For It", I think "Miss World" is my favorite song on the album or favorite Hole song in general. The demo version on My Body The Hand Grenade is really good too, so I suggest checking that out, if you haven't already.
BQ: I've already answered this
BQ2: PJ Harvey, Wire, Cat Power
BQ3: dull and i can't remember. obviously none that i care about.

I haven't heard too many songs by Hole, but I like that one. Good choice.
BA2: I feel I'm one of the only people on here who likes Saves the Day, which is fine with me, but I like to mention them when I can. I'm also loving Envy on the Coast and Streetlight Manifesto at the moment, and they don't get mentioned very often.
BA3: My day was pretty good, did some shopping with some friends, had an iced white chocolate mocha which was really good, and now I'm listening to Mozart which is very relaxing.
ugh, more trolls. fail.
