What's the easiest/best way to move large files between two computers at different locations?

The comp with the files right now is running Windows XP and the one I want to transfer them to is running Mac OS X Leopard.

They are not on the same network; I guess I'd need to set up remote access or something like that?

I know I'd need to download a program to one or both computers.. if it's free and simple, that's best.

And the more detailed instructions you can give on making the transfer, the better. Thanks in advance!

Buy a suitable sized USB stick from Ebay or Amazon, then you also have a backup medium. I got a 16GB stick for £17 UK delivered the other week.

Or if the files are realy huge get a USB external drive.

If the PC's are far apart you may be faster posting the USB stick back and forth than copying over internet.
