At what age to females typically stop growing in height?

I had always learned that from age 13 to 18 is adolescence and that's when you have puberty and grow a lot...

But I had my period at age 11, so I guess that I was early or something...

Is that normal?

At what age should I stop growing? It seems like I haven't grown (at least haven't noticed) for a few years, probably since I was 12 or 13.

I'm 5'3" and my mom is 5'1"...

Whats the average? I don't want to get much taller.

I got my period at 14. I stopped growing at 16.

Everyone is different, so there really isn't a set time for when it'll stop. I have heard that you can guesstimate how tall someone will be by doubling their height at 2 yrs. old, so if you have that info written down somewhere in a baby book, try it out!

About 95% of women are fully grown and matured by the age of 18. I too got my period when I was 11 and I was 5'8 by about 12-13 years old and haven't grown since. But since your mom is only 5'1, you probably won't grow much more that and inch or two if at all.

depends. Most girls stop growing by about the age of 18. Like every other human trait the age at which growth plates fuse follows the normal curve (or bell curve). When your growth plates fuse you are finished growing.

Some girls stop growing prior to menarche (The onset of menstruation), some stop shortly after it, and some keep growing for a long time after. One way to guess how much more a female will grow is to see how wide her hips are in comparison to adult females in her family. The closer she is to her adult female relatives in hip width the more likely it is that she is near the end of growing. This is however just a rule of thumb, and therefore often not completely accurate. It is also likely that her growth pattern will be similar the theirs, thus it might be wise to ask them what age they stopped growing.

If a no other information was available to help determine this, and a person really wanted or needed to know, a way of telling would be to look at X-RAY images of your bones to see if they are beginning to fuse yet or not.

You probably won't, because mum is only 5'1".

unless your dad is super tall then i very much doubt you'll grow anymore (: x
