Make a guess: Which will be the next large company to go under/bankrupt?

I predicted in December to expect more large companies to be going under. I wasn't sure which ones, but I figured they'd be shocking, well-established companies. And the biggest company to go under this year so far, is Circuit City.

The way the economy is trending, I doubt this is the last corporation/business we'll hear about that tanks. I made some bets with my friends on which large company will be the next to fall.

I predicted that both Blockbuster and Hollywood Video would close down sometime this year. At the very best, both might only close their stores down and become online-only rental businesses like Netflix.

Which companies do you forsee collapsing in the near-future?

The prediction that more company's will go under in 2009 is not a great prediction it is an obvious fact. I think Marks and Spencer's definitely. It was only four or five years ago that they was in real financial trouble and with there food sales plummeting which were the only thing that pulled them out of difficulties i am certain they will go pop this year.

I worked at Circuit City in the late 90's, their arrogance brought them down slowly. They deserved to go under even though I never like less competition.

I can see Hollywood video going down the tubes, I think blockbuster is more proactive. I am more worried about Chrysler.
