Have you ever bought one of those "FOR DUMMIES" books and felt no smarter after finishing it?

To be totally honest, my experience was with Guitar for Dummies, and I could never get past the first chapter. I suspect I am ALL THUMBS.

I haven't bought any, but I've got them out from the library and although it's easy to mock, they're actually pretty useful most of the time. And I know a non-religious person who read "The Bible for Dummies", "Christianity for Dummies" and "Religion for Dummies" and within a couple of weeks they knew more on the subject than most people I go to church with, so it does get you up to speed on at least a superficial level.

My downfall was "Web Design for Dummies" ... I think I needed "Web Design for the Utterly Brain Dead" and I almost didn't pass that course. :(

A couple pf years ago my mom came across a copy of the book "Mythology for Dummies" and gave it to me. I enjoyed the book well enough but I didn't learn anything from it.

Actually, I know one of the authors personally, Barbara Findlay Schenck. And, no, I actually learned some handy tips from her books.

You should consider writing "Yahoo Answers for Dummies" or "Social Conservatism for Dummies" instead.
