Just goes to show you that terrorism is in the eye of the beholder.

The UK, under King George, labeled George Washington, Patrick Henry, and Sam Adams as terrorists.

Yes. However, Gandhi had enormous moral authority stemming from his philosophy of non-violent resistance. While it would be a mistake to ignore the important role of the violent riots and implicit threat of violence - something that Nehru and the realists saw - Gandhi's pacifist idealism means that by any of today's standards we would not consider him a terrorist, even if he might still be jailed for civil disobedience.

Yes..yet they did nothing after the King David Hotel was attacked for no good reason--killing almost 100 civilians but in fact let the terrorists become prime minister and other leaders of Israel.

no. the British imperialists labeled freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Alluri Seetharama raju and communists as terrorists and hanged them to death and killed them in encounters.

It never treated Gandhi as their enemy as they knew he would serve their interests in perpetuating British imperialism.

Gandhi, when arrested was put in palaces , mansions but was never subjected to torture by the British police but where as people like Lala lajapathi roy were lathi charged and sent to Andaman jail which can be compared to Guantanamo.

They didn't label him as a terrorist as he wasn't creating terror in the public, but was rather labeled as a troublesome citizen who could have been part of a revolt.
