Folk music, R&P? (twenty characters...)?
Any fans of folk music out there? If there are, could you recommend me some good folk musicians/groups? Musicians that I am currently aware of: Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Peter, Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Leadbelly, Donovan, and Woody Guthrie. Any others that I may not be aware of? Also, provide links if you can. Peace!

I'm not a guy who knows a ton of straight up folk. I tend to like the happy medium between folk and rock, but here are a couple people that I'm into...
Tom Brosseau - Here Comes the Water Now
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTRFCgpg31w
kind of a folk/folk rock guy depending on the tune. I really like both of his records
Tall Tales and the Silver Lining - Born Down By the Side (plus a second song, can't remember which one it is now)

Fionn Regan - the Underwood Typewriter (Rukrym recommended him to me a while back. Really nice song)

Cat Power "Taking People"
