She is driving us insane. We have a caretaker for her every day and this lady also lives with us. My mom is mean, she attacks the ladies that take care of her, she doesn't speak to anyone unless it is to insult you. The lady who takes care of her spends her whole day whistling and singing ( she is completely tone deaf). We are sick of her.It is horrible having a stranger staying with you. Also, it is an economic burden for us Do you think it is fair that everyone in the house wants her in a home but my wife won't agree and so she stays with us. She is my mother. I know I need to put my foot down but I'm sure I have some guilt about doing this. Give me some advise!

is she of sound mind? sometimes dementia can cause drastic personality changes. have her health assessed and go with the doctors recommendations of care.

let your mom know that you love her and that if she doesnt stop with her insults you are going to put her into a home because you dont want your children raised thinking that kind of behavior is ok fire her care giver and take care of her yourself your wife wants her there then let your wife take care of her then maybe she will see your point of view also you do have to pay for nursing homes and remember theres always a chance of abuse at one as well
