Huge mood swings... Is this normal?
Ok, the day before yesterday, I got my drivers license. So I decided to drive myself to school yesterday. I felt great and everything was fine during the first period, but as soon as the bell rang, I suddenly had a careless feeling and thought: F**k it.
I got really emotional and checked if the auditorium was empty and it was, so I went in there, crawled away in a corner backstage and started crying really hard. Within 15 minutes I got about 12 texts on my phone, from worried classmates, I got tired of it, so I turned it off.
I skipped class, I normally don't skip class at all, but I did. My back hurt exactly where I once broke 2 ribs and I had a weird feeling in my stomach. Scary memories from my past kept coming to mind. Only thing I did was sit there with my Macbook until the battery died.
Then finally I went to the school counselor. I'm new to the school, so it was the first time we met, but we had a good talk which cheered me up a bit. He called my mom and she came to pick me up from school.
Now, it is 'my time of the month' and I have 2 smaller sisters with huge mood swings every now and then, but I never really had them myself...
Sorry it's kinda long, but my question is, can those mood swings be that bad? Like being happy at one point and breaking down moments later? I'm a little confused.
Thanks!

Everyone experiences mood swings from time to time (particularly women), but if they become so frequent and severe that they start to interfere with your daily life on a regular basis, then maybe you should think about talking to your school counselor more often. Have you talked to your family about this? Sometimes, you just have to get your feelings out.

There IS a slight possibility that something else is going on. Is she being made fun of by the other volleyball players, perhaps? As a result of your solution to her problem? Feminine pads have many uses, only one of which should be appropriate for a 12 year old girl. This is why I suggest the next time a new pair of shoes hurts the heels of your feet, make sure you do not forget to cut a pad in half and place at the back of your shoes. She will see that you are not afraid of what others think and that will give her courage to not care, as well. She can then say, when the other kids make fun of her next time, "Well, my daddy wears them, too!". That should make them stop making fun of her, and start making fun of you. In this way, you have sacrificed yourself for your daughter and she shall never forget it (or possibly live it down for that matter, but you get my point). Good luck, I hope one day soon she explains to you what they are really for...

I didn't read this question, only the title cause this is how it is:
Woman=Mood Swings
every woman has mood swings. If you did'nt i'd be worried.
Edit: Just reading everyones answers and they made me laugh, people saying "it could be psychological", "you could be bi polar", "Your period" or "You're a teenager"
That's silly, every woman gets it staring from puberty. Even 30 year old women get it. It's because of the female hormones! Not just because you're a teenager!! You don't need help, if it was something you needed help on then every woman would be rushing to the doctors looking for treatment. You can't get treatment for something thats natural!

Mine are bad like that. My mom went out to get me something from Dairy Queen because I was craving it and she brought me a brownie blast or whatever it's called and I cried because I really wanted a Dilly Bar. And then I thought "This is stupid, why am I crying??" But I couldn't stop crying and it was... horrible.
I am on birth control though (had a bad cyst), so that could be why my mood swings get so bad. I've no idea, though. Sorry and good luck!

You are probably experiencing hormonal changes. They can occur after puberty. It is normal for the person to have mood swings . If this persists, please see a doctor they can run tests and find out whats exactly wrong. Also , you may have had a anxiety attack or a stress disorder from your accident. I hope that you get to feeling more balanced.

i am a licensed psychologist, and there is a newly discovered degenerative nerve disorder which carries very similar symptoms as you have just described. It is fatal, you should get checked out.
Just kidding. You are a teenager, that **** is normal. As long as you don't have suicidal thoughts you are fine.

Yep. Comes with being a teenager. No worries. Love from Europe.
You seem like a bit of an Emo. Ah well. Anyway do what we do and get some Hash. That always cheers me up.

i think you need a day off. turn off your phone and anything distracting that may stress you out. get some ramon or ice cream, and watch movies in your pajamas all day. it will calm you down a lot.

Hormones what can I say. They can either keep your secrets safe or rat you out to the enemy(us men). Let me guess your thin( or Heavy), because you been through so many changes your hormones are about to betray you. so start talk to somebody you trust or your not going to have a very good time in high school.
