This is also the question I ask myself from time to time. Sometimes i just want to let it be.

But I do plan for my future. It will make me feel secure about my life, By making plans ahead, we have many options "sketched out", so that when things go wrong, we can deal with it according to our plan. It will decrease the risk of making mistakes.

BUT I'd say that we human can hardly predict all the things that can happen. Sometimes plan is just theoretically plan and can't be realised.

Living in a state not knowing what the future may hold could be a peaceful way of living. At least, you don't have to think too much in the sleepless nights.

I let the nature take its course and future takeover any necessary cause.

a lil' bit of both.. tried to plan.. but not to say always.. seldom failed.. so.. sometimes just let the future take its course.. but in the same time.. i will make sure the future is not that gloomy laa..

nevertheless.. my future is still in dark mode.. i really cant see what will happened even in a month time..

The future takes a path of its own, and will not be affected by your plans ...what you do is plan to fit in ...

You have to have some kind of plan but also realize that they can go horribly and strangely awry. If you don't know where you want to be, you can't have any idea of how to get there. And if you have no idea how to get there, you'll never go anywhere.

So yeh, it's best to have a plan, but be ready to switch to a backup at any given moment. That's how I am, sticking with one plan and stockpiling backups for that moment when everything gets screwed up.

Not down to the fine details, but hubby & I do have some long-term plans for the kids' future, eg. insurance & medical, children's education fund, trust fund, insurance to cover house mortgage in the event of death. We'd even prepared our wills to this effect.

As for myself, I leave most things to chance, spur of the moment decisions..and to fate.
