Besides Bybum's monster night, what do you guys think about Kobe's new improved ability to run the triangle?? ?

In the last 7 games, it's amazing how well Kobe runs the offense for the the Lakers, Phil has decided to let Kobe do more and run a bit less through Pau, and it has paid off. Obviously Lakers had two set backs against the Spurs and Magic, but overall Kobe running the offense more has really made the Lakers much better on offense.

Update:

The MVP (Wade's fan): I understand your frustration that your team isn't going anywhere, but hating on Kobe achieves nothing except getting your feelings hurt. If we go by your standard, Wade's hogging the ball so he can get more assists and points.

Update 2:

LOL, my bad guys, it's Bynum!

Kobe, knows the triangle since 2000 and he has perfected it.

The only reason why it seems much visible now is because he has players that have high IQs.

Dating back to the Smush Parker (my gosh.. where is this guy?) and Kwame "FAILED" Brown era, Kobe was playing on his own.

No one rotated, no one but him and Walton understood the beauty of the triangle, so PJ gave Kobe a license to do whatever he wants on the floor.

With high IQ players (mostly because of the sophisticated Euro players : e.g. Gasol, Vujacic, and even Radma), Kobe can easily play through the triangle, that's why they are enjoying the success now.

But if you would look at it, mostly the Triangle Offense had a different "way" now than it has been.

Mostly, it takes 2 ,3, or even 4 passes in a singe play, right now, it's just 2 passes and shoot.

That happens because they are making their shots, and because of the spacing other teams are giving to the Lakers resulting to the double-teaming of Kobe( and can make a strong also because you have two 7-footers on the floor).

The Triangle has changed because its main purpose is to create a high-percentage shot, and that usually happens to a great passing team, which includes 3 to 4 passes before an open man gets it.

Now, because of the length and great shooters of the Lakers, it eventually transformed , but its main goal stays the same.

Kobe is running the offense because of two main reasons: Fisher should not be tired come playoffs time (avg heavy, heavy minutes since Farmar went down). And the other is he is the focal point of anybody team's defense.

By the way, great game tonight! Hope to see more Bynumite in the games to come.

I really don't understand why so many people question Kobe and the Lakers when it's so easy to spot the great they are playing. Kobe is having a outstanding season and has done a great job improving his teammates and last night's game is a prove of that, so was the Cav's game. Although Kobe has to work a lot to get to get the offense going the offensive load does not fall entirely to him like happens in Miami, Cleveland or the Lakers of past years.

Yesterday Lakers made 70 POINTS IN THE PAINT. It's an amazing stat. I know there was no presence in there. There was no Camby, Kaman or Randolph yet the Lakers took that and capitalize firmly creating high percentage shots and feeding the ball to the right places.

I couldn't be more happy for how things are picturing themselves for the Lakers and I hope they can close the deal this year.

Don't worry MC Bybum isn't that bad to the atrocities we all write around here.

I am just happy so far with the Lakers and Kobe

i still think they should and could of won v.s Spurs and Magic , but we move on and the Lakers have to still be care-full with his injuries to his ring finger.

This year he doesn't need to put those monster #'s because he has Pau and Fisher for his age is doing good and the emerge of Bynum, and Luke back in the Line up good.

edit- The fact he has CONFIDENCE with his teamates helps him

The bench Lamar , Sasha and Ariza good off the bench speed and scoring.

Powell impressed me when Lamar went down for a couple days , cant wait for Famar back.

For those guys Kobe can be more a helper and share the ball then before rember, Parker and Kwame dear lord lol

edit- The fact he has CONFIDENCE with his teamates helps him, and how the team has grown they all been together and you can see they have good chemistry and i know , Kobe has been pacient.

That is what a great player has to do to step it up to the next level. Now the decision making of Bryant has to be better than it is now (its pretty good now) and those "setbacks" against the Spurs and Magic were Kobe's poor decision making (giving the ball to Ariza for the last shot, 3-12 shooting in the fourth). But good play by Bryant these past couple of games.

-Kobe has played his best ball this month.

-He hasn't been forcing up bad shot, instead he has taking advantage of double teams and passed to the open player.

-He is really starting to get the flow of things. Lakers are a MUCH better team when he gets Gasol/Bynum going on offense.

he has changed his game in order to adapt it to the lakers' new style, all the great players in the game have to be able to do something like that, wilt went to the lakers and his scoring dropped almost 20ppg but he led the league in assists and guess what? he won the championship

with bynum, odom, and sasha stepping their game up, kobe can just facilitate, it is nice to see that if he doesnt score 30+ points the lakers can still win

Kobe is finding a new playing style. More mature. His understanding of the game is deeper now. His scoring pct. may diminish, but he's becoming more complete. Lots of triple doubles are coming. Just watch!

After the numbers he put up today you called him Bybum, I hope it's a typo. My thoughts are Who is gonna stop The Lakers? And when is the parade.

He is the centerpiece of the triple-post offense.

You can just tell by his triple doubles and near-triple doubles this season. He doesn't need to score 35 every night to win.

That man is a maestro, like Mike Mussina. He will adjust to the situation, and as he grows older, moving into his 30s, you will see even more balanced game from him.

    The answer is easy....

Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the planet right now.!!!

So, he's not only a SG, he can play at PG and be the best too.

Just look his numbers on the last games...

    vs IND = 36pts 7reb 13ast

    vs SAS = 29pts 7reb 10ast

    vs ORL = 28pts 13reb 11ast

    vs CLE = 20pts 6reb 12ast

    vs LAC = 18pts 10reb 12ast

There's any doubt about who's the real MVP.???
